Broadening the 600-year old Qawwali custom of his family, Khan is generally attributed with acquainting Qawwali music with worldwide groups of onlookers. Considered one of the best voices at any point recorded, he had an unprecedented scope of vocal capacities and could perform at an abnormal state of power for a few hours. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (13 October 1948 16 August 1997) was a Pakistani artist, essentially a vocalist of Qawwali, the reverential music of the Sufis.
